Boy oh boy, it sure doesn’t take much to get me excited these days. I just realized this morning that Evernote has made some changes to its application on my MacBook, and I am diggin it!

The first thing I noticed was a new sorting option for my notebooks. I fired up Evernote and was looking for a notebook. When I clicked on the notebooks tab in the sidebar I saw all of my notebooks rearranging themselves. I looked up at the top of the screen and noticed the new sort option called “updated.” Now that’s what I’m talking about! Now you can find the notebooks you have accessed most recently right at the top of your screen. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I’m a big fan of Evernote, but what up wit dat? Why wasn’t this option built into the application from the very beginning?

In other news, they also added a new quick note feature. Now you can just click on the icon at the top of your screen and capture all or part of the screen directly into Evernote which then creates a new note. What I like most about this feature is the ability to capture just part of the screen and paste that into Evernote. You then can add your comments, and voilà! You have a new note. Pretty cool stuff.

Evernote has become a foundational, staple application in my productivity toolkit. This application allows you to capture anything that comes to mind whether it be on the web, or just from a conversation you had. Once you put that information in Evernote you can access it from any of your computer devices. If you’re not using Evernote on a daily basis, you are missing the boat! C’mon now, get with the program and…

Keep movin.
